Not much news for the last two days. Yesterday we attended church at the Holy Trinity Church for the noon to 13:00 service, a more modern service. We ran into our friends, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Stuart. They had a chinese student who they are helping; she is working on her Masters at U. of st. Andrews. It was great that we sang "Great is Thy Faithfulness". I got all misty-eyed as I thought of every church I have sang my favorite hymn of all. Also, I reconfirmed some more information about the Holy Trinity Church and the martyr from that church, Patrick Hamilton. Did some looking on google and will have to learn more about him. Quite a great great Christian from the Holy Trinity Church.

Walking home from church it was hugely windy. Really big gusts of wind. So we thought playing golf would be pretty uncomfortable. (We actually ran into the Garrisons of San Francisco who are members of R&A and just 2 doors away from us. They stay for two months. They were just coming out of their car and had playing in a tournament for The Rules Club. Both of them looked very tired. Glad we didn't play today)

When we got home to fix a late lunch, the cleaning people came in. Dick had already changed out of his church-cl0thes. We had a quick lunch and then I changed into khakis and golf shirt. Sheena and her gang are good cleaners and we wanted to get out of the way. Walked up to the movie theater.."Salt" and "Night and Day" are playing, as well as a couple of others including Piranah 3D NO THANK YOU!!!

Then walked around to the Scores Road and down pass the aquarium, checking out restaurants along the way. Next we went into the British Golf Museum. Dick can get in free with his R&A membership. They had a couple of new exhibits; one on ladies golf, the Ladies Golf Union; and another on the R&A. We also watched some old video of the earliest competitions ever filmed. Great fun.

Back home to the beautifully cleaned flat and cleaned up for dinner. We decided after first calling The Guardsbridge Hotel only to learn that they close early on Sunday to go to the Russacks Hotel dining room, Rocca (with the second c backwards...whatever that means). Anyway it was a great dinner and we enjoyed tremendously sitting at the window and watching the golf go by from 7pm until well after 8:30pm.

The Russacks is just 3 doors down the street from the flat, so it was convenient and we enjoyed our lovely dinners...Dick had an appetizer of calamari and other fish followed by steak ; and I had tomato basil soup followed by duck. YUM. Dick had a dessert of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce. I settled for an espresso.

Today we had some troubles. Sleep is sometimes a villian to our holiday. The lack of it that is. And today was Dick's day with nay sleep. He took a couple of naps in the morning and then went down to the R&A to get us a golf time on the Eden at 1:04pm and put us in the lottery to play the Old Course again.

Playing Eden was fun. The day was very very grey and so we opted to drive down to the Eden course (given up our parking space which we hate to do...but taking the shuttle with a treat of rain did not sound good either). Playing the Eden was great. It is not the easiest but certainly not the hardest. I made some good shots today and finished with an even 90 score. Good golf.

We drove past the flat and there were no parking spaces available and so we drove up and parked on Bell Street, walking over to Tesco for some premade meals for the next two nights dinners (plus we still have a packaged pizza to eat). THE RAIN BEGAN!!

Back along Pilmour Place there was still no parking available, so I pulled up onto the sidewalk and unloaded groceries, golf bags and shoes and then got ready to back off the sidewalk and drive to the R&A parking....just as someone backout of one the spaces in front of the flat!! HURRAH. I didn't have to park and then walk through the rain to repark in front of the flat later at night.

Crusing along the vacation road....
Cheers friends
