R&R TIME
Yesterday we waited until 3pm to hear from a tire auto-service company. They said Hertz had never gotten through to them. So it was dealing with the stuff, doing laundry and arrangements.
I did finish my jigsaw puzzle. It has been so much fun to have it on the table to work on as a relaxing and escape.
Nearing 5pm was when we got the tire on and the car parked on the street instead of the sidewalk.
That done, we went over to Dunvegan for a bar meal...nachos and chicken salad which we shared.
I went to bed pretty early. The midge bites on my face, around my neck area and in my hair were pretty intense, so I took an antihistamine and went to bed early with my book. It was great. I finally got a good night's sleep. Maybe that is the answer, go to bed before Dick and be DRUGGED. :)
Today we waited for service from a decorator company. I had tried to pull some drapes close and the rod they are hanging on is too light for the heavy drapes. EGADS. I felt so badly. But Steven from Farhome did a great job putting them back up and getting everything in order.
After that we left for lunch at the Strathtyrum/Eden Clubhouse
They have a lovely menu. Since Dick had just called the Porter at the R&A Clubhouse, we had a short time to be there for a 12:40 tee-time. We checked in with the registration and then I ordered two Mushrooms soups for lunch and water. Quick and easy and YUMMY lunch.
We played the Strathtyrum Course which is the easiest course on the Links. Dick had played so badly in Skye that I felt we needed to be somewhere flat and non-challenging. It was perfect and so was Dick's game. Well almost. He shot 81 and had one birdie out of 3 possible birdies. He struck the ball quite well and I felt very encouraged. I shot an 86. (started to think scores which does not bode well with the game).
This is the furthest point out on the links courses. I wish I could picture how you can see the courses, one from another. It's quite wonderful.
We finished golf in 3 hours and went off from the golf course to the Tourist Bureau. If we plan to go to the Balmoral Gathering we should probably get tickets and the ticket website won't let you look to see what is available if it is after the last day of the month before the event. well that sounds confusing. Anyway, if Bjorn and Helga want to go, we will just have to telephone to see what is available. Since we already went to the Highland games, I can skip this one if they want.
After the tourist office, we were off to Morrisons for major grocery shopping. Dick could not believe how much stuff I was buying but we were out of everything. Made chili tonight, plus a lasagne casserole British Style???? for tomorrow night when our friends arrive.
Cheers ya all

Thoroughly enjoyed your trips to Mull & Skye. I've been to Skye but not to Mull. I went to Skye to see where they make Drambuie. It says "The Isle of Skye Liquer" on the label. Well, it's not made on Skye at all, but in Edinburg. They only call it that because Bonnie Prince Charlie absonded to Skye with the secret recipe.
